Alma Fern Cooksey

Alma Fern Cooksey, age 85, passed away on August 17, 2022. She was born on August 5, 1937 to parents Zelbert Denzil King & Virginia A. Staninger King. Alma married Roger L. Cooksey on November 16, 1979. She enjoyed taking care of others as she worked as a registered nurse for 25 years. Alma attended the Emmanuel Baptist Church in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She volunteered at the Salvation Army and local food pantry. Alma was a member of the Cherokee Nation and she had a first-class engineering license.

Survivors include:

Husband: Roger L. Cooksey of Jeffersonville, IN

Daughters: Virginia Hardy of New Albany, IN, Deborah Fey of Valley Station, KY, & Laura L. Key of Campbellsville, KY

Son: Ted M. Key of Jeffersonville, IN

Sister: Drusilla Wood of Clarksville, IN

Brothers: Bud King of Plainfield, IL, James King of Morres Hill, Gary King of Mitchell, & Eric King of Clarksville

10 Grandchildren & Several Great grandchildren, and a great great grandchild

She was preceded in death by her son David Cooksey

Visitation for Alma Fern Cooksey will be Wednesday, August 24, from 11 am - 1 pm at McAdams Mortuary. The Funeral will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Bro. Harvey McAdams will officiate. Burial will be in the McDonald Chapel cemetery. For condolences visit mcadamsmortuary.com
