Bobbie Jean "Jeanie" Haycox

Bobbie Jean “Jeanie” Haycox, 93, of English, Indiana, passed away on May 18, 2026, at Serenity Springs Senior Living in Jasper.

She was born June 14, 1932, in Marengo, Indiana, to Ridgley Sloan and Erma (Austin) Sloan. On December 26, 1952, she married Harold Haycox, who preceded her in death on March 8, 2010.

Jeanie was a former employee of Travelers, formerly of Orleans, and was also a homemaker. She enjoyed reading, cross stitching, and flower gardening.

She is survived by her son, Stacy Haycox of English.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and siblings, Edward “Hogie” Sloan, Dana May Sloan, Rosemary Jones, Wilma Melton, Lavada Ruth Bowman, Johnny Sloan, James Sloan, Katherine Sloan, infant siblings; Ridgley Sloan Jr., Nina Sloan, and Harold Sloan.

Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1pm at McAdams Mortuary with Bro. Eric Satterfield officiating. Burial will be in Mathers Chapel Cemetery of English. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary and on Thursday after 10 Am.
