Claude L. Brozzo

Claude L. Brozzo passed away January 3, 2026 at Brookside Village, Jasper, in. He was born July 28,1927 to Lawrence C. and Frandia Robbins Brozzo in Giles, WI. After graduating for high school in 1945, he spent four years in Tuberculosis Ward of Grandview hospital, Ironwood, MI. He was fighting the same disease that claimed the life of his mother in 1945. He vowed if he survived; he would make his life's work to help others with communicable diseases. After discharge from the hospital he graduated from and X-Ray technician school. He was employed with the Indiana State Board of Health for 42 years. First as a traveling X-Ray Technician, then as a Public Health Investigator of communicable diseases, finally retiring as an Epidemiologist.

On July 28, 1951, his 24th birthday, he married Cecilia La Claw. They met while she was a nurse's aide at Grandview hospital. She preceded him in death on October 3, 2017.

Claude is survived by: Daughters Claudette Brozzo (William Long), Paoli, Cathy (Rick )Stenftenagel, Jasper; Grandsons: Aaron (Amy) Stenftenagel, Jasper, Derick (Keisha) Stenftenagel, Jasper, Jesse Long (Kara Davis) Louisville, KY, Kirk ( Audra) Stenftenagel, Jasper; Great-grandchildren: Ayden, Alec, Asher, Kip and the only great-granddaughter Spencer. Brother, Jack Brozzo, Ironwood, MI

Claude is preceded in death by: His wife, parents, brothers, Raymond and Joseph Brozzo; Sisters, Betty MisKovich and Shirley Brozzo and grandsons- James Matthew and Dylan.
