David Michael “Mike” Knight, born March 21, 1950, passed away peacefully on June 21, 2025, at the age of 75. A devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, and great-grandfather, Mike leaves behind a legacy of quiet strength, deep love, and a life rooted in family and nature.

On November 5, 1970, Mike married the love of his life, Mary Joann Knight (Tevault), with whom he shared a lifetime of love and partnership. Mike was the proud father of three children: Dawn Tomey (husband Terry), Johnny Knight, and Michelle Boyce (husband Neil). His family was his greatest joy, and he was especially proud of his nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Mike retired from GM Truck and Bus in Indianapolis in 2002 after many years of hard work and dedication, where he was known by his coworkers as “Rambo”. In retirement, he embraced the outdoors which was his favorite place to be. Whether walking through the woods, sitting quietly under the trees, or simply breathing in the fresh air, Mike found peace and contentment in nature.

Those who knew Mike will remember his kind heart, steady presence, and gentle spirit. He led by example, working hard, loving deeply, and always staying true to himself. His love for the simple things in life and his deep devotion to his family will live on in the memories of those he touched.

A private family service will be held to honor his life. In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to take a peaceful walk in the woods and remember Mike in your own quiet way, or make a donation to Team Gleason
