David Wayne Underhill Sr.

David Wayne Underhill Sr, age 82, of Mitchell, passed away October 1, 2025 at Spring Valley Meadows. He was born July 14, 1943 in Paoli to parents, Ellesworth & Dorothy (Brown) Underhill. He married Betty (Gilbert) Underhill in 2004 and she preceded him in death in 2006. David was a U.S. Navy Veteran. He was retired from Mid America Auction House of Louisville, KY. He attended Old Union Christian Church.

Survivors include: Daughter, Tina Hobson of French Lick; Brothers, Charles Underhill and Jimmy Underhill, both of Orleans, and Larry Shortridge of Indianapolis; Sisters, Paula Sue Underhill of Loogootee and Joyce Shortridge of Indianapolis; several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

David is preceded in death by his parents, wife, children- David W. Underhill Jr., Scott Underhill & Patricia Beavers; siblings- Elwood Underhill, Danny Underhill, Mary Underhill-Kifner and an infant brother.

Visitation for David Wayne Underhill Sr. will be from 10am-12pm on Monday, October 6, at McAdams Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 12 noon at the funeral home.
