Edward Roy Nikkila

Edward Roy Nikkila, 71, of Paoli, passed away June 27, 2021 at IU Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born December 14, 1949 in Printis, WI, to parents, Roy & Bernice (Swanson) Nikkila.  He married Bobbie Leighty June 16, 1995. Edward was a US Army Veteran. He was a retired dock supervisor for Overnight Transportation and he attended Paoli Wesleyan Church. Edward loved life and loved people, nature, the outdoors, making birdhouses and bird watching.

He is survived by:

Wife- Bobbie Nikkila of Paoli

Sons- Steven Nikkila of Boise, ID, Devin Nikkila Orleans, Christian Calaway of Orleans, Cameron Nikkila of Paoli & Connor Nikkila of Paoli

Daughters- Cailah Nikkila & Lorraine Nikkila both of Paoli

Brothers- Alan, Steve & Dale Nikkila

Sisters- Sharron, Phyllis & Evelyn Nikkila

Grandchildren- Jayce, Gracie & Kyler Nikkila

Edward is preceded in death by, parents, daughter- Julia Nikkila & brothers- Dwayne & "Marsha" Nikkila.

A celebration of life service will be 1pm Tuesday July 6 at McAdams Mortuary. Bro. Lyndel Manship will officiate. Cremation will follow. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Monday, July 5 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to go towards the funeral service costs.
