Ellen Elaine "Lanie" Laws

Ellen Elaine “Lainie” Laws, age 67, of Paoli, passed away on November 11, 2025, at IU Health Bedford Hospital.

She was born on July 25, 1958, in Salem, the daughter of Randall L. Manship and Elsie Ellen (Murphy) Manship.

Lainie married Billy Joe Laws on March 2, 1985, and he preceded her in death on May 22, 2008.

Lainie devoted her life to her faith, family and her home. She enjoyed reading, journaling, and watching movies. She attended Valeene Wesleyan Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Esther Elaine Laws of Charlestown; her son, Jay Laws; her brother, Brian Manship and wife Sue of Milltown; her sister, Rhonda Carchano of Lexington, KY; and several nieces and nephews, including Ashley Carchano, Ellen Byrd, and Stevie Brown.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 20, 2025, at McAdams Mortuary. Bro. David Manship, Bro. T.C. Baker, and Bro. Harvey McAdams will officiate. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Hardinsburg.
