Indianapolis

Garold L. Abell, age 92 of Indianapolis formerly of Paoli, passed away on June 14, 2024 at IU Health West Hospital in Avon, IN. He was born on September 7, 1931 in Valeene, IN to parents Noah E. & Nellie Mae (Polen) Abell. He married Norma Jean Stewart on September 1, 1951 who preceded him in death in 2016. Garold was retired from Chrysler Corporation where he was a millwright Carpenter machinist. He was a member of the Drexel Gardens Christian Church in Indianapolis. 

Survivors include Sons: William Lawrence Abell of Indianapolis, Garold Wayne Abell (Cindy) of Mooresville, and Steven Lee Abell (Russie) of Indianapolis. Daughter: Karen Abell (Mike) of Indianapolis. Grandchildren: Amanda Abell Choate (Austin - Adopted Grandson), Marissa Abell, & Brandon Abell. Great Grandson: Daylin Choate. 

Garold is preceded in death by his brothers: Harold & George Abell, and Sisters: Mary Abell, Wilma Wilson, Hilma Murphy, & Geneva Speedy.

The visitation for Garold L. Abell will be on Friday, June 21, 2024 from 12-1pm at McAdams Mortuary. The funeral will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Pastor Gary Lynch will officiate. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery. For condolences visit mcadamsmortuary.com
