Harold L. Amonett

Harold L. Amonett, age 69, of Paoli, passed away November 22, 2025, at Redcrest Hospice House in Bloomington. He was born February 18, 1956, in Byrdstown, Tennessee to Larry Arvil and Jewell (Dean) Amonett.

On June 5, 1974, he married Deanna Denton, and they shared more than fifty years of marriage.

Harold retired from JSI of Orleans. He was a lifelong farmer who raised horses and cattle, and he took pride in working the land. He enjoyed building and crafting projects of all kinds, often making furniture. He was also a big supporter of the Purdue Boilermakers.

Harold is survived by his wife, Deanna Amonett; brothers, Charles Amonett and Larry Amonett; sisters, Patsy Amonett and Janice Schuley; nephews, Terry Pittman, Chris Denton, Charles Dean Amonett, William Raines, Jonathan Schuley, Bob Amonett & Bill Amonett; nieces, Katelyn Amonett, Jamie Denton, Heather Keesee, Jennifer Schuley, Jeana Amonett, Trish Raines, Hope Reidner, Peggy Barnes, Lori Wallace and his beloved dog, Nubbins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Ray Amonett; sister, Carol Raines; and nieces, Julie May Schuley and Tracy Amonett, nephews, Jimmy Raines and Lynn Raines,.

Visitation will be from 4–7 p.m. Tuesday, November 25 at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, November 26 at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Stampers Creek Cemetery. For condolences, please visit mcadamsmortuary.com.
