August 14, 1938 – November 15, 2024

James William Haworth, 86, of Franklin, formerly of Paoli, passed away on November 15, 2024 at St. Francis Hospital of Indianapolis. He was born on August 14, 1938, in Paoli, Indiana, to parents James Robert and Virginia (Fleener) Haworth.

On March 2, 1957, James married the love of his life, Rebecca Sue Stroud. Together, they built a life filled with love and dedication to their family.

James was the co-owner and operator of Mintworth Auto, formerly of Paoli. He attended Paoli First Baptist Church and later Millersburg General Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge. He was a devoted family man and was passionate about the holidays, delighting his family with beautiful decorations and creating memories that will be treasured forever.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Rebecca Sue Haworth of Franklin; his daughter, Deborah Andry (Kevin) of Bedford; his sons, Tim Haworth (Cheryl) of Mitchell, and Robert Haworth (Amy) of Fort Wayne; two sisters, Rita Dillard of Paoli, and Becky Lynn Wright (Larry) of Pierceton; seven grandchildren, Angela Spires (Jack), Elizabeth Andry, Luke Haworth (Carrie), Gabe Haworth (Abby), Steven Haworth (Joni), Olivia Haworth, and Eric Haworth; and eleven great-grandchildren, Madison Hamer (Chase), Amelia Russell, Gideon Russell, Savannah Palma, Landon Haworth, Everett Haworth, Iris Haworth, Jackson Haworth, Daniel Haworth, June Haworth, and Andrew Haworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Barbara Dillard; and three grandchildren, Paul Andrew, Catherine Jo, and Samuel Louis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, November 19, 2024, at Paoli First Baptist Church. Brother Steve Stroud and Brother Chad Stroud will officiate. Burial will follow at Paoli Community Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM at McAdams Mortuary with a Masonic service at 6 pm, and again on Tuesday, November 19, from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church.
