Janet Sue Cross

Janet Sue Cross, age 84, of Nashville, Indiana, and formerly of Orleans, passed away June 1, 2025, at Brown County Health & Living Community. She was born July 1, 1940, in Paoli to the late James L. and Thelma Louise (Parks) Manship.

On December 9, 1966, Janet married Rodney Cross, and together they shared more than 55 years of marriage. She was devoted to her community and spent many years working in food distribution for Older Americans of Orleans. Janet was also a longtime member of the Orleans Church of Christ.

She is survived by her sister, Marybelle Whaley of Bloomington, and her brother, Joseph Ray Manship and wife Margaret, also of Bloomington.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rodney.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Stampers Creek Cemetery. Arrangements by McAdams Mortuary. Condolences may be shared at mcadamsmortuary.com.
