Jim L. Harkness

Jim L. Harkness, 71, of Paoli, passed away Saturday, October 20, 2018 at Paoli Health & Living Community. He was born May 19, 1947 in Paoli, IN to parents, Homer Clay & Mary (Hopper) Harkness, He married Linda Jean (Cecil) Harkness June of 1965 and she precedes him in death. He is survived by: daughter- Melanie Harkness of French Lick; sisters- Doretta Wilson of Paoli, JoAnn Kelley of French Lick, Sharon Benefield of Paoli & Margaret Delph of Paoli; brothers- Homer Harkness of Paoli, Kenny Harkness of Paoli, Larry D. Hopper of Paoli, Steve Hopper of Paoli, Danny Hopper of Mitchell, Paul Harkness of Paoli & Darrell Harkness of Hardinsburg. 5 grandchildren & 7 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: parents, wife, son- Jimmy L. Harkness Jr. &  brothers- Gail, Bobby & Gene Clay Harkness.

Jim L. Harkness was retired from Carpenter Body Works formerly of Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 3-5pm Tuesday, October 23 at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral will follow at 5pm at the funeral home. Bro. John Harkness will officiate.
