John Ivan Atchison

John Ivan Atchison, age 64 of Paoli, passed away on January 8, 2025 at Norton Brownsboro Hospital in Louisville, KY. He was born in Paoli on December 3, 1960. On May 21, 1983 he married Patricia Danette Atchison. He was a former RV tech for Tom Stinnett Camping World in Jeffersonville, IN. John was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He loved hunting, fishing, and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was remembered for his love of history. 

Survivors include his wife - Patricia Dannette Atchison of Paoli, daughter - Charlotte Anne Atchison (Bryce Taylor) of Clarksville, son- John Daniel "JD" Atchison of Clarksville, brothers - Darrell Eugene Atchison of Paoli, Chris Crecelius (Debbie) of Marengo, & Neil Gabbard of Marengo, sisters - Melissa Jane Shelton (Terry) of Sellersburg & April Neukam (James) of Zoe, KY, grandchildren - Ryan Whalin, Landon Atchison, Hayden Whalin, Cooper Rose Atchison, & Patricia Grace Atchison.

John is preceded in death by his mother - Margaret (Wells) Gabbard, step-father - Paul Gabbard, and brother - Woody Gabbard. 

The visitation for John Ivan Atchison will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 3pm - 7pm at McAdams Mortuary. The funeral will be on Sunday, January 12, 2025 at 2 pm at the funeral home.
