John F. Hamman, 88, Paoli passed away July 2, 2025, after a short battle with cancer at Paoli Health and Living. He passed peacefully surrounded by his family.
John is survived by his wife of 66 years, Rachel (Larimore) Hamman, 2 children, daughter, Deborah (Hamman) Krumrie (Joe) and son, Franklin Hamman (Rhonda).
He had 6 granddaughters, Kimberly (Krumrie) Burton (Adam), Carla (Krumrie) Dickey (Joh), Carrie (Krumrie) Fox (Jeremy), Angela (Krumrie) Ashlock (Danial), Jessica Hamman (Bobby) and Breanna (Hamman) Elkins (Skylar) and one grandson, Casey Foye (Megan). John had 13 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Having worked as an independent milk hauler for multiple years, John then went to work at Mi-Lin Wood Products for 45 years. After retiring from Mi-Lin, he went to work driving for Older Americans and Orange County Transit. Always a hardworking man, at 80 years old, he went to work driving a truck for MPP in Campbellsburg. After full retirement, he enjoyed taking care of his yard and spending time with his wife.
John was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice (Fancher) Hamman, a sister, Ella (Hamman) Bowles, and two nephews. Ralph Bowles (Junior) and William Bowles. The family asks that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Riley Children’s Hospital.
Visitation for John Hamman will be from 11am-2pm Saturday, July 5, at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral will follow at 2pm. Bros. Greg Strother and Harvey McAdams will officiate. Burial will be in Paoli Community Cemetery. For condolences, visit mcadamsmortuary.com.
