Kenneth Allen Sholes

Kenneth Allen Sholes, 80, of French Lick, Indiana, passed away on October 4, 2025. Born on June 4, 1945, in Tioga, WV, Kenneth was the son of Cecil Earl and Irene (O'Quinn) Sholes.

After graduating from high school, Ken attended Shepherdstown University in Shepherdstown, West Virginia. Following his education, he worked at Ford Motor Company in Chicago Heights, Illinois, alongside his four brothers, before entering the United States Air Force, where he served proudly for four years. Ken went on to teach elementary school in Ohio for more than 20 years. Following his retirement from teaching, he attended barber school in Ohio and later moved to French Lick, where he owned and operated a barbershop for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was also a member of the French Lick American Legion. 

He is survived by: brothers, John M. Sholes and Harold L. Sholes, sister, Barbara Dodrill, several nieces and nephews, and many friends and loved ones who will cherish his memory.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Wilbert E. Sholes, Elizabeth "Libby" Hayhurst, Elnora Morgan, and Hansford D. Shole.
