LeRoy Edward Boyer, 78, of Paoli, walked into the arms of Jesus on September 29, 2024. He was born to Joseph and Ruby Boyer on July 18, 1946, in Vincennes.
LeRoy married the love of his life, Sharon, on May 19, 1967. She survives with their daughters, Lisa (Jeff) Deakins, and Leslea (Matt) Kerby.
He is also survived by his son-in-law Clinton (Tiffany) Crowder. His cherished grandchildren: Kimberly (Jon) Sparks, Kayla (Bryan) Moyers, Ashley (Ian) Heffner, Kurtis (Maggie) Crowder, Kristina (Justin) Huggins, Ali Kerby, and EB Kerby and great-grandchildren Sara Kaye, Charlotte & Natalie Moyers, Zane and Zachary Sparks, Eden and Holland Heffner, and Madelyn Huggins; sisters, Lucinda (Charles) Taber, and Joyce (Bob) Moore; several nieces and nephews and countless friends.
LeRoy is preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Lori Ann Crowder; his parents, Joseph and Ruby Boyer; and his siblings, Kenneth Boyer, Linda Hawkins, and Martha Abel.
He retired from CSX Railroad, formerly Monon of French Lick. He was also a member of the American Legion Warren Brock Post #69, Syria Christian Church both of Orleans and Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees.
LeRoy proudly served his country as a U.S. Navy veteran. Beyond his own service, he was committed to honoring fellow veterans as a dedicated member of the American Legion Post 69 Honor Guard, faithfully attending veteran’s service to pay tribute. LeRoy's unwavering dedication made him a special individual who touched many lives through his commitment to his fellow servicemen.
LeRoy enjoyed hunting, mushroom hunting, mowing grass, woodworking and reloading bullets. Above all, he treasured spending time with his family. He was a jack-of-all-trades and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 4, at McAdams Mortuary, and again on Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 AM until 2:00 PM at Syria Christian Church of Orleans. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM, with Bro. Rob Brown officiating. Burial will follow at the Syria Christian Church Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Warren Brock Post #69.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to American Legion Warren Brock Post #69 or Syria Christian Church.
