Lisa A. Cook, age 57, of Paoli, passed away on July 7 at IU Health Bloomington Hospital. She was born on October 13, 1966, in Paoli, to the late Floyd and Eva (Carlisle) England. Lisa married James G. Cook on May 26, 1988.
She dedicated several years as an LPN at ResCare of Paoli, where she compassionately cared for others. She looked forward to lunch with the "gang" at Connie’s Restaurant in Paoli, where friendships and laughter was abundant. She cherished her time living in Florida. Known for her nurturing spirit, Lisa welcomed anyone into her home with open arms, treating them as her own family.
She is survived by her husband, James G. Cook of Paoli; her children, Zach Cook (Scarlett) of Paoli, Jacob Cook (Sarah) of Paoli, Atley Miller (Joel) of Panama City Beach, FL, and Aubrianne Cook of Paoli; grandchildren Kainan, Blaze, Cosette, Eva, Trey, Kaizlee and one granddaughter on the way.
Also surviving are her sister, Cathy Thomas(Matt) of Paoli; and her brothers, Gary England (Debbie) of Paoli, John England of Hardinsburg, and Rick England (Tina) Hardinsburg, father and mother-n-law Merril and Thelma Cook of Valeene as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Eva Carlisle England; her stepmother, Jane England; and her brothers, Eugene, Melvin, James, and Kenny England, as well as an infant great-grandchild, Slade.
A funeral service to celebrate Lisa’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, July 13, at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli. Bro. Mark Manship will officiate the service, and burial will follow at Rock Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 12, from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
In honor of her love for sunsets and beaches, the family requests that attendees wear colors reflecting the vibrant hues of the sunset.
