Mariglayne Hopper

Mariglayne Hopper, 92, of Paoli, Indiana, passed away on December 17, 2025, at Springs Valley Meadows.

She was born on May 27, 1933, in Paoli, Indiana, the daughter of William Arthur Easterday and Dema Agnes (Pipher) Easterday. Mariglayne married Walter Franklin Hopper on June 3, 1951.

Mariglayne was the former owner and operator of Hopper’s Flowers in Paoli. She was also employed at Orleans High School, managed a trailer park in Florida for several years and worked at Walmart in Paoli. She was a 1951 graduate of Paoli High School and a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.

She is survived by four daughters, Maryrose Manshadi (Manoochehr) of Jeffersonville, Barbara Jean Smallwood of Milton, FL, Martha Jane Harrington (Charles) of Paoli, and Brenda Sue Livingston (Trent) of Paoli; three sons, Walter Wayne Hopper (Vicki) of Orleans, Clyde Ray Hopper (Cindy) of Washington, and Mark Wade Hopper (Tana) of Orleans; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; and fifteen great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, her brother, Raymond Easterday; great-grandson, Jesse Franklin Pease and her son-in-law, Patrick Bruce Smallwood.

Friends may call at McAdams Mortuary from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 21, and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Monday.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli, with Bro. Harvey McAdams & Bro. Jared Hardin officiating. Burial will follow at Paoli Community Cemetery.
