Martha was born in Ashland, KY on March 28, 1930. She was married to George on September 8, 1950. They moved to southern Indiana where they raised their family.
She graduated as a Registered Nurse from the Nazareth School of Nursing Saint Joseph Hospital and worked in hospitals in Kentucky and Indiana until they moved to the country in southern Indiana where they raised their family. She enjoyed traveling, skiing, swimming, bowling and caring for her roses. Following George’s retirement, they enjoyed training and racing their thoroughbreds. In her later years she enjoyed watching wildlife and her favorite sports teams from her home. She seldom missed a University of Louisville or Baltimore Ravens Game.
Her life was dedicated to the Lord and to the Catholic church. Through her faith, generosity, and support of her community and church family she instilled the same values in her children.
Due to the COVID pandemic and the size of her immediate family a private funeral Mass was chosen with burial following at Kays Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that expressions of sympathy be sent to her favorite charity, Christ The King Catholic Church: 833 S Triangle Rd, Paoli, IN 47454 or Kays Chapel Cemetery: C/O Terry Nesmith, 7249 West Nesmith Road, Fredericksburg, IN 47120.
