Marvin B. Daugherty

Marvin B. Daugherty, age 84, of Paoli, passed away on July 31, 2025, at IU Health Hospice House in Bloomington. Born on October 11, 1940, in Pennington Gap, Virginia, Marvin was the son of Samuel Ray Daugherty and Jeanette (Campbell) Daugherty. On June 8, 1961, Marvin married the love of his life, Judy (Horn) Daughtery. Together, they built a life rooted in love, faith, and family.

Marvin proudly served in the Army Reserves. He retired from GTE Telephone Company, where he worked as a line technician. He was a member of Tulip Street Christian Church in Mitchell, where he found comfort in his faith and fellowship. Marvin was also a member of the Paoli Masonic Lodge #119. He enjoyed painting and woodworking. 

Survivors include his wife, Judy Daugherty of Paoli; sister, Nancy Reynolds of Orleans; brother, Glenn Daugherty (Marsha) of Madison; grandchildren, Amanda Daugherty, Blake Daugherty (Emily), Kate Daugherty, and Joseph Daugherty; & great-grandson, Michael Allen Daugherty.

He is preceded in death by his sons, Michael Grant Daugherty & Gregory Ray Daugherty; sisters, Geraldine Nodine, Gloria Anderson; brothers, Jack Daugherty, (Twin) Melvin Daugherty, & Brad Daugherty.

The visitation for Marvin B. Daugherty will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 from 4 pm - 7 pm with a Masonic Service at 7 pm at McAdams Mortuary. The funeral will be held on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at 11 am. Pastor Darren Chastain & Daniel Lee will officiate. The burial will be in the Mitchell Cemetery in Mitchell, IN.
