Mary was born on February 17, 1942 in Mifflin to Willie "Bill" Qualters and Dorothy Smith. She graduated from English High School in 1960, and Married Alvin Green a year later. She loved children and in 1969 God blessed them with one child Jonathan Green.
Preceded her in death were her parents, her Grandmother Minnie Smith Austin who raised her & three brothers, two of them deceased also - Jimmy Qualters in 2012 & "Bubby" Qualters 2022.
Surviving are her son Jonathan who resides in Jasper & remaining brother Johnny Qualters of Paoli.
She loved all her nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, & of course, her son, who she prayed to have finally made her a Mom at age 27. She confessed to her younger brother Bubby - whom she was very close to - that many times she failed God - but He had never failed her.
After a long fight with lung problems, she passed on May 5, 2024. Her message to the teens - I love you all & times we were together - continue fighting the "good fight of faith!"
Mary & her Grandma Minnie became members of Tunnel Hill Free Methodist Church in 1961 while Rev. Tella Belcher & Wife Hazel pastored the church.
She had a lot of fear that God could love her, so, her pastor one nite at the altar had her read 1st John 1:9 aloud and how we are saved by grace through faith - that she accepted forgiveness.
