Mary Mae Myers, age 93, of Georgetown and formerly of Hardinsburg, passed away on June 12, 2025, at Waters of Georgetown.
She was born on May 13, 1932, in Hardinsburg to Wayne Howard Doan and Sarah Elvenia (Radcliffe) Doan. On December 29, 1950, Mary married Norman Wade Myers, and together they shared 63 years of marriage until his passing in 2014.
Mary was a homemaker and a member of the Palmyra Baptist Church. She loved music and the arts—whether singing, painting, or playing guitar and piano. She cherished her time performing with the Silver Stars of Louisville, and enjoyed clogging and square dancing with friends and family. She spent countless hours painting, quilting, crocheting, and bringing beauty into everything she touched. Mary also loved gardening and cooking and her biscuits and gravy will be remembered fondly by many.
Mary is survived by her daughter, Cathy Ann DeNuzio (Jerry) of Florence, KY; her daughter-in-law, Peggy Myers of Corydon; and her son, N. Brian Myers of Hardinsburg. She is also survived by her brother, Milton Doan of Hardinsburg; grandchildren, Michael Myers, Chad Kahl (Allison), Derrick Kahl, Christy Myers, Nick DeNuzio (Britt), and Sara Manis (Chris); 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Bobby Wade Myers; and her sisters, Wanda Lamping and Sharon Emerson.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at McAdams Mortuary. A funeral service will begin at 12 p.m., followed by burial at the Hardinsburg Cemetery. For condolences visit mcadamsmortuary.com.
