Mervin "Red" Jones

Mervin “Red” Jones, age 95, of Orleans, passed away December 6, 2025 at IU Health Hospice House of Bloomington. He was born April 7, 1930 in Kentland, IN to parents Luther S. & Ilene E. (Benham) Jones. He married Mary Jane McBride Henderson on October 23, 2000 and she preceded him in death on February 1, 2020. Mervin “Red” Jones was a retired self-employed mechanic. He attended Little Mission Church of Hardinsburg.

Survivors include: Sons- Virgil R. Jones (Sheila) of Terre Haute, Donnie L. Jones of Milltown, Michael T. Henderson (Patricia) of Utica; Daughters- Vickie Dalton (David) of Orleans & Susie Tipton (Les) of Bedford; brother- Steven Jones of Brookville, FL & sister- Charlene Smith of Bloomington. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren & great-great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, daughter- Brenda Case, brother- Melvin Jones, sisters- Vera Dino, Naomi Belcher, Elouise Helms & Rose Mary Huff; & grandson - Scott Clements.

Visitation for Mervin “Red” Jones will be from 11 am-1 pm Tuesday, December 9 at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral will follow at 1 pm at the funeral home. Bro. Harvey McAdams will officiate. The burial will be at Mathers Chapel Cemetery of English. For condolences, visit mcadamsmortuary.com.
