Ruth Ann Stevens

Ruth Ann (Holt) Stevens was born on January 4, 1940 to Irvin Edward and Iva Evelyn (Collins) Holt in Shoals, IN, and passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 at Hospice House in Bloomington surrounded by her family. She graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1958. She met Donald Stevens on a blind date set up by Sue and Howard Holland, and married him on September 14, 1963. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2024. Together they had 2 children - Jeffrey Donn Stevens (Amber Richards) with whom she lived, and Pamela Jo (Stevens) Phillips. She is also survived by 6 granddaughters: Hannah, Kourtney, Maranna, Avrey, Charli, and Sophie, and 7 great grandchildren. Two siblings, June Sorrells of Paoli and Dennis (Jane) Holt of Henryville, also survive. Her brother-in-law, James ‘Jim’ Sorrells, and granddaughter Jocelyn Delainey Phillips preceded her in death.
