Wanda Ruth Smith

Wanda Ruth Smith, 89, of Indianapolis, formerly of Paoli, passed away April 17, 2026, at her home in Florida. She was born April 19, 1936, in Paoli, Indiana, to Clyde Walton and Jessie (Payton) Walton.

Wanda married Harold Smith on June 2, 1957. She was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, decorating, and flowers. Wanda was kind-hearted and never spoke a bad word about anyone.

She is survived by her husband, Harold Smith of Indianapolis; her son, Eric C. Smith of Whiteland; one sister, Vicki Newlin (Joel) of Orleans; caregiver, Judy Smith of Orleans; grandchildren, Kelli Nicole Smith and Tori Madison Smith; and one great-granddaughter, Bella Marie Teltoe.

She was preceded in death by her son, Gregg Smith; her sisters, Imogene Kennedy and Geneva Chandler; and her parents.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 23, at McAdams Mortuary in Paoli, with Bro. Harvey McAdams officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.

Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service on Thursday at the mortuary.
