Dr. Mark S. F. Eckart

Dr. Mark S. F. Eckart, age 60, passed away on February 27, 2022 at IU Health Hospital of Paoli. He was born May 4, 1961 in Corydon to parents Bobby & Ella (Dorton) Eckart. Dr. Mark married Deborah (Jones) Eckart on September 1, 1984. He earned his undergraduate degree in Christian Education & Bible Theology from God's Bible School and College, a Master's in Religious Ed, and a Master's in Divinity from Cincinnati Christian University, and a Doctorate in Ministry from Nazarene Theological Seminary. He also served on the IWU board of trustees for 18 years, 8 of those years on student Development and Campus Affairs Committee and 10 years on the IWU-National & Global Committee. 

Dr. Eckart has authored five books, taught for over 30 years at the collegiate level, served as Vice President of God's Bible School and pastored for several years before serving as District Superintendent of the Indiana South District of the Wesleyan Church. There he has served over 75 churches for almost 19 years.

Daughters: Krystal Dailey & husband, Austin of Whitestown & Brooklyn Sonuga  John & husband, David of Lafayette

Grandson: Maverick Dailey

Sisters: Deborah Stuart & husband, Dale of Seymour & Rachel Stuart & husband, John of Greensburg

Brothers: Keith Eckart of Corydon, James Eckart & wife, Debbie of Pittsford, MI, & John Eckart & wife, Joy of Corydon

Aunt: Bonnie Brown of Corydon

Visitation for Dr. Mark S. F. Eckart will be Thursday, March 3 from 4-8 pm at Paoli Wesleyan Church. Funeral will be March 4 at 11 am at the church. Dr. Wayne Schmidt & Bros. Charles Stroud and Bob England will officiate. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery located in Corydon. McAdams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
