Gary L Thacker

In loving memory of Gary L Thacker, age 78, of Paoli, who peacefully passed away at his home on February 22, 2024. Born on September 27, 1945, in Queen City to Albert and Maggie (Walls) Thacker, Gary was a devoted husband to Wilma, and they shared 52 years of marriage since September 10, 1971. Gary was a proud US Army veteran, and he dedicated his career to Kimballs before retiring. Family was most important to Gary, and he enjoyed the outdoors.

Gary is survived by his loving wife- Wilma Thacker, daughter- Holly Thacker, grandson- Keaton Thacker all of Paoli, sister Roanna (Gary) Tower of Milltown, and brother- Ronnie (Vicki) Thacker of Paoli. He is also fondly remembered by nephews Christopher Thacker, Troy Thacker, Jesse Free, Warren Free Jr., and Josh Tower, along with several cousins.

Gary is preceded in death by his parents, sister- Bonnie Free, son- Derrick Thacker, and daughter- Marilyn Thacker.

Visitation For Gary Thacker will be held on Sunday, February 25, from 4 PM to 7 PM at McAdams Mortuary, with the funeral service scheduled for Monday, February 26, at 1 PM at the funeral home. There will be a visitation on Monday after 10 am until the funeral at one. The burial will be in Patoka Chapel Cemetery. For condolences, please visit mcadamsmortuary.com.
