George Martin South

George Martin South, age 73 of Orleans, passed away on January 28, 2024, at Paoli Health & Living Community. Born on May 16, 1950, in Louisville, Kentucky, to Curtis & Lottie (Marcum) South, George retired from Older Americans and was formerly a bus driver for Floyd County Schools, He dedicated years to serving his community. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, and range shooting, reflecting his love for the outdoors.

George is survived by:

Son- George Curtis South of Seymour,

Daughter- Crissy Marie Sanders of Indianapolis.

Siblings: Bill South of New Albany, Danny South of New Middleton, Michael South of New Albany, Sandy Miller of Corydon, and Douglas South of Shepherdsville,KY

A cherished patriarch, George is remembered by nine grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. George is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Sonny and Donnie South.
