Jack Smith

Jack Smith, 84, of Valeene, passed away October 17, 2020 at Baptist Health Hospice of Louisville. He was born March 15, 1936 to parents, Denzil & Ermal (Trinkle) Smith. He married Nellie Mae Stroud on August 20, 1956, and she precedes him in death.  Jack was the retired owner and operator of Smith's Grocery formerly of Valeene. He was a member of Valeene Wesleyan Church. 

Survivors include: Companion- Ernestine Crecelius of Milltown

Son- Mike Smith & wife, Debbie of Paoli

Grandchildren- Dereck & Jesse Laws of Hardinsburg, Eric & Jamie Laws of Hardinsburg, Jami Smith of Paoli, Matt & Liz Smith of Paoli & Tate & Chelsea Smith of Paoli

13 Grandchildren & 1 Great-Grandchild

Jack is preceded in death by his parents, wife & daughter, Peggy Laws.

Visitation will be from 4-8pm Wednesday, October 21 at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral will be 11am Thursday, October 22 at the funeral home. Bro. David Manship will officiate. Burial will be in Valeene Cemetery. The family requests guests wear masks and practice social distancing according to CDC guidelines. For more information visit: cdc.gov.
