Laura L. (Hudson) Payton

Laura L. Payton, 88 of Paoli, passed away January 30 at Salem Crossing Nursing Home. She was born April 1, 1932 in French Lick to parents, Raymond & Edna (graves) Hudson. She married Melvin "Bud" Payton on September 9, 1950. Laura was  a homemaker and enjoyed crafts, gardening and canning. She was a seamstress as well. Laura Attended the Rock Springs Community Church of Hardinsburg. 

Survivors include:

Daughter- Melva Grimes & husband, Roy of Paoli

Son- Jim Payton and wife, Linda of Marengo

10 Grandchildren

17 Great Grandchildren

Several Great-Great Grandchildren

Sisters- Brenda Edwards & Judy Underhill

Daughter-n-law- Janice Payton 

Several nieces and nephews

Laura was preceded in death by: parents, husband, brothers- Howard, Stanley, and Leroy Hudson. brother-n-law- Chuck Edwards, sister- Joyce Husdon & sons- Jerry Payton & Billy Payton. 

Visitation will be from 10am-1pm Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at McAdams Mortuary. Funeral will follow at 1pm at the funeral home. Bro. Harvey McAdams will officiate. Burial will be in Cooks Chapel Cemetery. McAdams Mortuary is following CDC guidelines regarding the Coronavirus pandemic. Guests are required to wear masks and practice social distancing (6 ft). If you are showing symptoms of illness (fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting or diarrhea) please do not attend.
