Marjorie Ann Banks was born on May 10, 1948, in Washington County, Indiana. An active member of the Hardinsburg Christian Church for over 50 years, she served as treasurer, teacher, bible school leader, choir member and, as she always loved to sing songs of praise, a frequent soloist. As a young girl, she had the opportunity to live in Japan for three years during the post WWII reconstruction of the country and at Scott Air Force Base in Illinois, before returning to Indiana where she resided for the rest of her life. Marjorie worked throughout her life, from tool and die maker to social worker to special education teacher. She worked her way through college as a single mother while also working in a factory full time, earning a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University. After college, she devoted her life to helping others as a social worker and special education teacher. A lifetime disciple and student of Jesus Christ, she was known to have a mastery of the scriptures.
Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Dennis and Mary Stucker, and her brother, Dennis. She is survived by her two sons, James and Kenneth (Cheyanne), and four grandchildren: Summer, Jackson, Ethan, and Isaiah. Her favorite times included taking her grandchildren on many adventures and spending time with her sons.
