Norman & Pattie Hutslar Obituary

Pattie Sue (Tucker) & Norman Elwood Hutslar passed away at home surrounded by family. As they had throughout their lives, the couple went to heaven hand-in-hand. Pattie and Norman were married almost 64 years demonstrating their deep commitment to each other and inspiring those who encountered them.

As a young man from Paoli, Indiana, Norman was an Air Force veteran stationed in Guam. The year they were married, Pattie took the major step to leave her home in French Lick, Indiana to go on an adventure of a lifetime. It was there that their son, Scotty Hutslar, was born.

Upon return from Guam and discharge from the Air Force, Norman worked hard to support his family. He retired early from the Navy Depot at Crane. After that, Pattie and Norman spent almost every day together.

Pattie and Norman were preceded in death by two of Pattie’s siblings, Linda (Tucker) Warren, Bill Tucker, and Norman’s sister Helen (Hutslar) Crowder.

On top of the numerous family and friends whose lives they touched, they leave behind a devoted son, Scotty Hutslar (Brittany Hutslar) and their daughter Tanya (Hutslar) Wilson (Darren Wilson). Pattie also has several siblings (Jim Tucker, Judy Tucker, Kathy (Tucker) Vollmer, Becky (Tucker) Cochren, and Debbie (Tucker) Smith. They have a total of seven grandchildren with ten great-grandchildren. So as not to dismiss the numerous loved ones and family, if you knew, loved, and supported Pattie and Norman in life, you are a special piece of the family created and held together.

In honor of Pattie and Norman’s life and connection to family, in lieu of donations or flowers, please carry on their memory by spending time with your families. Each family is so special choose to remember that and if all else fails, in their words, “You hold on tight. Keep holding on.”
