Rodney Gene Chastain, 81 of Paoli, peacefully departed from this world on March 16, in Jasper. Born on September 1, 1942, in Paoli to Lester James and Ethel Marie (Buchanan) Chastain, Rodney was a cherished member of his community. On July 7, 1962, he united in marriage with the love of his life, Marjorie Jo Stroud. Rodney dedicated many years to Kimball Trucking before retiring, and alongside his professional endeavors, he served as a Pastor at Souls Harbor Church formerly of Paoli and Millcreek Baptist Church of Salem, spreading the message of the Lord with fervor and compassion. Rodney's passion for music, particularly singing and playing the piano, brought joy to many. He was a beacon of love and faith, known for his infectious laughter and unwavering commitment to spreading the love of Jesus. Rodney leaves behind a legacy of kindness and devotion.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marjorie Chastain of Paoli, and their children: Bryan Keith Chastain Sr. (Jennifer) of Manilla, Bradley Kent Chastain (Judy) of Salem, Lori Jo Chastain  Weikert (Randall D.) of Paoli & Barry Kirk Chastain (Angela) of Paoli. He will be remembered by his grandchildren- Megan McClure (Brian) of Fairland, Kori Cullipher (Jeff) of Mechanicsburg, Bryan K. Chastain Jr. (Kaila) of Anderson, Christian Chastain (Melody) of Greenville, Christopher Logan Weikert of Guam, Stephanie Jo Drake (Jordan ) of Bedford, Logan Wade Dalton Weikert of Paoli, Carter Cleveland Chastain (Claire) of Indianapolis, Keaton Chastain (Trenton McElfresh) of New Albany,  Patrick Shannon of Indianapolis & Brenna Shannon of Indianapolis and eight great-grandchildren.

He also leaves behind siblings Sharon Slavens of Georgia, Brenda Kay Latham (Tom) of Paoli, Linda June Dearborn of Marengo & Phillip Dean Chastain (Debbie) of Paoli, and their families.

Visitation to honor Rodney's memory will be held on Wednesday, March 20, from 3 PM until 7 PM, with the funeral service following at 7 PM. The service will be officiated by Bro. Steve Stroud and  Bro. Chad Elwood Stroud, with burial to be held privately at Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Friends and family may pay their respects at McAdams Mortuary from 3 PM until 7 PM on Wednesday. Rodney's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
