Virginia H. "Jennie" (Burkert) McGrady Close

Virginia H. "Jennie" McGrady Close, age 97, passed away on January 17, 2022 at home. She was born August 10, 1924 in Anderson to parents John P. & Ethel P. (Day) Burkert. Virginia married the love of her life, John G. Close, on May 25, 2002 when they reconnected after 60 years of being apart, and made their home in Paoli until his death in 2008. Virginia was a homemaker. She also attended St. Mary's of Alexandria, IN, Monroe Jr. High School, and New Hope Christian Church of Paoli. Virginia also enjoyed reading and listening to mystery books provided by Indiana Library for the Blind and Handicapped.

Survivors include:

Sons: Mike McGrady  and wife, Edie  of Anderson & George McGrady of Yellow Springs, OH

Grandchildren: Jeremy, Jeffery, Diana, Samuel, Tyler, & Jacob

Several Great Grandchildren

A special niece: Nancy Bilo & Several nieces & Nephews

Special friends & Caregivers: Nancy Turner & Judy Houts

Preceded in death by parents, husband, sons, Jeffrey & Rodney Guilliams, & Rick McGrady, several siblings have passed, & granddaughter, Trina McGrady
