Walter Manship Obituary

Walter "Gail" Manship, age 72 of Hardinsburg, passed away on March 20, 2024 at his home. He was born in Paoli on July 4, 1951 to parents Walter Edward Manship & Minnie (Pirtle) Manship. Gail married Diane (Rippy) Manship on August 29, 1970. He was a self-employed construction worker and attended the Little Mission Church in Hardinsburg. Gail was an avid hunter who enjoyed fishing and tying his own jigs. He had a remarkable ability to bring joy and laughter in his storytelling. He was also musically talented through his love for playing guitar. He took pleasure in being outdoors and going on hikes. Most of all he cherished spending time with his kids, and grandkids and going on picnics with his wife, Diane. 

Gail is survived by his wife - Diane Manship of Hardinsburg; daughter - Tara Wimmenauer of Indianapolis; son - Shannon Manship (Danelle) of Hardinsburg; sister - Linda Key of Marengo; grandchildren - Bret Manship (Sarah), Trent Manship (Brittany), Audrey Bostock (Ian), Riley Manship, Owen Wimmenauer, & Emma Wimmenauer; Great Grandchildren - Maisyn, Silas, Waylynn, Brooks, and another great grandbaby due this year. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters- Betty Strange, Norma Haycox, Barbara Lampkins, Violet Griffis; brothers- Donnie Manship, Russel Manship, & Harold Ray Manship

The visitation for Gail Manship will be held on Sunday, March 24, from 11 am - 1 pm at Little Mission Church. The funeral will follow on the same day at 1 pm at the Church. Bro. George Key Will officiate. Cremation was chosen with a burial at a later date at Rock Springs Cemetery. For condolences visit mcadamsmortuary.com
