Wilma Darlene (Wells) Thacker

Wilma Darlene Thacker, age 71 of Paoli, passed away on March 20 at IU Health Methodist Hospital. She was born on September 6, 1952, in New Albany to parents Charles Edward & Mary Elizabeth (Deen) Wells. On September 10, 1971, she married the love of her life, Gary Thacker. They were married for more than 52 years before he preceded her in death on February 22, 2024. Wilma was retired from French Lick Resort where she worked at West Baden in food services. She had also worked at Childcraft formerly of Salem. Wilma cared most about taking care of her family. She was tough her whole life and memories of her will be cherished by all who knew her. 

Wilma is survived by her daughter - Holly Thacker (Hubert Levi) of French Lick, her grandson- Keaton Thacker of French Lick, her siblings - Barry Wells (Tammy) of Hardinsburg, Linda (Wells) Freiberger of Greenville, Her Uncle - Jerome Byerly (Stephanie) of Milltown, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter - Marilyn Thacker, &  son - Derrick Thacker

The visitation for Wilma Darlene Thacker will be held on Sunday, March 24, 2024, from 4-7 pm at McAdams Mortuary. The funeral will be Monday, March 25, 2024, at 11 am at the funeral home. Bro.
