Busick is survived by: husband- George "Jim" Busick of Paoli; daughter- Janet Stiles of Paoli; sons- David Busick & wife, Mary of French Lick & Brian Busick of Big Sky, MT; sister- Virginia Haller & husband, Gary of Warrensburg, MO; 5 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren & 1 great-great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her parents- William S. & Frances (Douglas) Allen.

Sarah M. Busick was retired from Mi Lin Wood Products formerly of Paoli & she was a member of Paoli First Baptist Church.

Robert David Cunningham Sr. 

February 4, 1961 - March 7, 2018

Visitation will be from 12noon- 1pm Sunday, March 11 at McAdams Mortuary.  A graveside service will follow at 1:30pm at Paoli Community Cemetery. Bro. David Manship will officiate.

He is survived by: daughter- Cynthia Cunningham of Paoli; sons- Robert, James & Joshua Cunningham all of Paoli; 10 grandchildren; sisters- Liz Kelly of Arcadia, Mary Waggoner of Shoals & Teresa Allen of Sedalia; brothers- John Cunningham of Scircleville, James Cunningham of Paoli, Bill Cunningham of Arcadia, Dale Cunningham of Kokomo & Charlie Cunningham of Indianapolis & several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by: parents- James Branon & Necia Mae (Freeman) Cunningham; wife- Sharon Bye Cunningham; son- Jeremiah Cunningham; sisters- Claudette Cunningham & Shirley Cunningham.

He was employed as a mechanic at Haycox Service Center formerly of Paoli. He was a member of Paoli VFW.

February 10, 1946 - March 2, 2018

Mary Kay Sailer is survived by, husband- Donovan Sailer of Paoli, whom she married July 2, 1960; four sons- Bruce William Sailer and wife, Sandy of Kent, Patrick Earl Sailer of Fort Branch, Michael Joseph Sailer and wife, Rhonda of Paoli & Max Ray Sailer of Orleans; sisters- Helen Ryan of Marquette, MI & June Ellison of Wisconsin; grandchildren- Joe Sailer, Sam Sailer, Cameron Sailer, Spencer Sailer, Kaitlyn Sailer, Benjamin Sailer, William Sailer, Amanda Sailer & Dawn Sailer; & 3 great grandchildren. Mary Kay Sailer was retired from the Paoli Public Library and she was a member of the Lutheran faith.

She is preceded in death by: parents- James Wesley McQueary II & Betty Ann (Cayton) McQueary.

Burial will be in Ames Chapel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Springs Valley Wesleyan Building Fund.

Survivors include: brother- Fred Sawyers of Plainfield and several nieces and nephews. Louis J Sawyers is preceded in death by: parents Lee H. Sawyers & Mary E. (Evans) Sawyers; sister- Frances Leitzman & brothers- Forrest, Gerald & Robert Sawyers.

Louis J. Sawyers was a retired salesperson from L.S. Ayres formerly of Indianapolis & he was a member of Springs Valley Wesleyan Church.

Paul Edward Clements

August 9, 1937 - January 19, 2018

Paul Edward Clements was the son of Thad & Edith (Elliott) Clements. He married Eva Jane Bobbitt September 24, 1964 and she precedes him in death. 

He was owner and operator of Kitty Hawk Models formerly of Paoli & he was retired from Carpenter Body Works formerly of Mitchell. He was a member of Syria Christian Church of Orleans.  

Survivors include: nieces- Connie Bishop of Covington, KY & Carol Stewart of Paoli, Christine Koch  of Bloomington & Susan Key of Paoli & nephew- Jerry Groomer of Thornton, CO. He is preceded in death by brother, Merle Clements.

Hobart M. Roberts Jr. 

June 5, 1949 - January 14, 2018

Hobart M. Roberts Jr. is survived by: wife- Linda K. (Kindrick) Roberts, whom he married July 1, 1977; mother- Esther Roberts of Salem; daughter- Amanda Smedley of Salem; sons- Jacob Roberst of Salem & Jason Roberts of Salem; sisters Ellen Willis of Charlestown, Sharon Babcock of Salem; Sadie Baker of Corydon; Sally Roberts of Louisville, KY & Sue Jones of Pennsylvania & 4 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his father- Hobart M. Roberts Sr. and brother Herbert Roberts. 

Hobart M. Roberts Jr. was US Army Vietnam War Veteran and he was a retired self-employed carpenter.

George Ward Edmiston is survived by: wife- Jan (Wells) Edmiston of Paoli, whom he married December 29, 1989; daughters Tammy Roos & Husband Jim of New Albany, Shawnee Goodman & husband, Jody of New Albany, Charlie Dawn Bergeron-Pennachio & husband, Joe of Oakham, MA, Lisa Taylor & husband Michael of Shoals & Debbie Hunt of Memphis, IN; sons- Jonathan Edmiston & wife Tracy of Alpharetta, GA, Jeffery Edmiston  & wife Sharleen of Worcester, MA, Daniel Edmiston of Dudley, MA & Edward Edminston & wife Nashiea of New Albany; 33 grandchildren & 22 great-grandchildren. George Ward Edmiston was a US Army 11th Airborne Division Korean War Veteran. He was a retired truck driver for Teamster Union and he was a member of Paoli Wesleyan Church.

William L. "Bill-Bob" White is survived by: sisters- Sharon Learnerd of Mitchell, Vicki Flick of Mitchell & Gaile Flick of French Lick; brothers- Larry White of Paoli and Rick White of Orleans & several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents- Clinton Dale & Shirley Ann (Terry) White. 

He was formerly employed at Paoli Inc. for 21 years.

John Warren Cox

April 6, 1922 - December 12, 2017

John Warren Cox of Paoli and San Tan Valley, Arizona passedaway on December 12, 2017, in Tempe, AZ, at the age of 95. Services will be 1pmSunday, December 17, 2017 at McAdams Mortuary. Friends may call from 11am untilthe service time at 1pm. Bro. Bruce D. Ervin will officiate. Burial will be inAmes Chapel Cemetery.

  John was born on April 6, 1922, in FrenchLick, IN, to Hazel and Samuel Fred Cox. John helped on the family farm, attendedschool and graduated from French Lick High School. Shortly after working inSteel manufacturing in Gary, John was called to military service in WWII. Johnserved as a Sergeant in the Air Force in Saipan and was honorably dischargedafter the Japanese surrender.  Uponreturning to French Lick, after the war, John met Esther Cleaver at the FrenchLick Skating Rink and they were soon married in 1946.

John began his accounting Career as Deputy Auditor of OrangeCounty. He then was elected to County Auditor. This experience enabled him toapply to and attain the life long career as Field Examiner for the IndianaState Board of Accounts, from which he retired. John also served in variousroles in Orange County including: Commander of the American Legion, Master ofthe Paoli Masonic Lodge, President of the Orange County Hospital Board and alsoas an active member of the Paoli United Methodist Church.

John was preceded in death by his wife Esther, daughterCindy, parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. Surviving John are his childrenStephen Cox (Victoria), David Cox (Dinah), Pamela Pauley (Arthur),grandchildren Daniel Cox, Cara Cox English (Charles), Lindsey Cox Madden(Michael), Artie Pauley (Kristin), Greg Pauley (Samantha) and greatgrandchildren Odhran, Emmett, Gracie, Adalene and Eli, sister Rose Cox Smithand many nieces and nephews.

John was a devoted father who enjoyed his family andfriends, watching and attending sports events and traveling around the UnitedStates. John was a proud American and Veteran and cherished his country.

A memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday December 9 at Christ the King Catholic Church of Paoli. Cremation was chosen for Howard, 67, of Paoli. He is survived by: brothers- Gary Green of Jasper, James Green of French Lick & Ralph Green of Bedford & sisters- Mary Russell and Martha Collins both of Mitchell. He is preceded in death by: parents John H. & Judith Irene (Dixon) Green; brothers Charles and Joseph Green and sisters- Darla Martin & Donna Green. 

Howard Green was a member of Lick Creek Friends Church of Paoli and retired from retail business management.

August 8, 1964 - December 3, 2017

Cremation was chosen for, Berndhard "Bernie" Ellis, 53, of Paoli. He is survived by: sons- Merrill Dean Ellis of Paoli & Matt Sheffield Ellis of Florida; daughter- Samantha Ann Ellis of Orleans; mother- Bertha Lea Mink of Paoli; sisters- Ursula Underwood of Paoli & Elaine Vermillion of of Paoli; brothers- Johnny Fancher of Paoli & Tony Fancher of Arizona; and 7 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by: wife- Sue Ellen Ellis; father- Merrill Dean Ellis; mother- Helen Edith Ursula Drtscheny and brother Robert Dale Ellis.

Rev. Gary Wayne Wilson

September 21, 1945 - November 26, 2017

Rev. Gary Wayne Wilson, 72, beloved husband, father & friend, passed away on November 26, 2017 at his home in Auburn, IN. He was born September 21, 1945 to Callie & Wayne Wilson. He graduated from Trevecca University in 1967 and was a Nazarene minister for 50 years. On June 16, 1967 he married his high school sweetheart, Gloria Nance. They were married 50 years and have two children, Kimberly and Rebecca.

Gary loved spreading the word of God; loved preaching and singing revivals. He loved bowling, playing the piano, table games and golf. He had gotten two hole-in-ones in the past year, which he was very proud of; and loved playing with his grand kids.

Gary is preceded in death by: his parents; son- Mark Wilson & daughter- Rebecca Streasick. He leaves behind his beloved wife, Gloria, daughter, Kimberly Draper and her fiance Cody Hoelle, and four grandchildren- Zoe Draper, Seth Draper, Dalton Beber & Greyson Hoelle.

Funeral service will be at English Wesleyan Church Friday December 1, 2017. Visitation will be from 1-3pm and service at 3pm. Dr. Mark Eckart will officiate. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 2 at 3pm at Woodmere Cemetery in Huntington, West Virginia. Rev. Tim Bess will officiate.

Nelson "Eddie" Andrews is survived by: wife- Carrie (Faller) Andrews of Paoli; daughter- Felicia Andrews and Fiance, Adam Hole of Paoli; sister- Sharin Austin of Greenwood; brothers- Frank Andrews of Salsberry & Ellis Andrews of Alabama & grandson- Alexander Earl Andrews of Indianapolis. He is preceded in death by: parents- Arthur "Archie" Elsworth Andrew & Rosa Lee (Johnson) Andrew Austin & brothers- Jim Andrews & Donald Andrews.

Nelson "Eddie" Andrews was a US Coast Guard Vietnam War veteran. He was a retired prison guard at Putnamville Correctional Facility & a member of the Baptist faith.

Sharon Kaye Garrigan, 72, of Parker, Colorado, Entered into Eternal Life on October 4, 2017.

Sharon Kaye Garrigan was born to Willie Edward and Myrtle Ann Shirley in Paoli, Indiana.  A breathtakingly beautiful woman (inside and out) she touched the hearts and enriched the lives of everyone she met.

She had faith in God and was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, SBC.  She lived her faith and shared it with her family and friends.

When she and husband, Ed, retired, they made a home for their family in Parker, Colorado.

She was a devoted mother, marvelous cook, artist.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Willie Edward and Myrtle Ann Shirley and sister, Paula Freed. Sharon leaves behind her husband, daughter Rebecca Barnett, son Ken Barnett, stepsons Eddie Garrigan and Eric Garrigan; three step-grandsons Cary Garrigan, Greg Garrigan and Kyle Gibson, her sister Donna Dillman, brother Rick Shirley and many nieces and nephews.

This amazing woman will forever be adored by her family.  Always the epitome of unconditional love, Sharon will be sorely missed.

Visitation with graveside service and burial immediately thereafter in the Paoli Community Cemetery, Paoli, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be given to CRU (https://give.cru.org) or Young Life (www.younglife.org/Giving) in her memory.

There will be a visitation from 10-11am, Saturday, October 14, 2017 at McAdams Mortuary. A private burial will follow. After which, friends and family are invited to English Wesleyan Church Annex for Lunch.


Paula Raye Freed

Entered eternal life on September 30, 2017

Paula Raye Freed, along with her twin sister, Sharon Garrigan, were born to Willie E. Shirley and Myrtle Ann Shirley on December 17, 1944 in Paoli. Indiana. She was a very loving and caring woman, who lit up a room with her smile. Even in her time of sickness and poor health, she had that same constant smile. She enriched the lives of all who knew her—her grandkids thought that she was the best grandma in the whole world.

She had a personal relationship with her Savior, Jesus Christ and was an active member of Cornerstone Church, SBC. She was very active in the church until her illness made it impossible for her to attend. She lived and shared her faith through her relationships with her family and friends.

She and her husband, Ron made their home in Parker, Colorado after the completion of a 28 -year career in the United States Air Force. She also worked for the Department of Treasury for twenty years in secretarial and communications positions. As an Air Force wife, Paula traveled all over Europe and then extensively in the United States as a government employee. Additionally, she was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, friend and marvelous cook.

Paula was preceded in death by her father, mother and son, Robert. She leaves behind her husband; daughters Cynthia and Kimberly from Parker, CO; three grandsons, Hunter, Kyle and Joshua and two granddaughters, Megan and Taylor; a sister, Donna and a brother, Rick from Paoli, IN; plus, nieces and nephews.

This wonderful woman will be forever adored by her family and friends. She was the picture of love and devotion and she will be greatly missed.

Dwight Edward Sketo was a retired employee of Gohman Construction; Local 741 Laborers Union and member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints of English.

CeciliaBrozzo passed away October 3, 2017 at Northwood Retirement Community in Jasper,IN.
 Shewas born November 26, 1927 in Ironwood Michigan, the youngest child of Peterand Mary (Petek) LaClaw, Czechoslovakian immigrants.
Ceciliawas a homemaker. She was a master of many crafts. She enjoyed baking,crocheting and needlework. She was an avid bird lover and enjoyed working inher many flower gardens. She was a member of Our Lady of the Springs CatholicChurch of French Lick.
 Survivingfamily members include her husband of 66 years, Claude Brozzo; twodaughters  Claudette Brozzo and husbandWilliam Long & Cathy Stenftenagel and husband Rick; grandsons Aaron (Amy)Stenftenagel, Derick Stenftenagel, Jesse Long and Kirk Stenftenagel; greatgrandsons Ayden and Alec Stenftenagel; sisters, Mary Brunelle and Helen LaClawand brother Joseph LaClaw.
 Sheis preceded in death by her parents and brothers: Peter, Paul and Roy LaClawand a sister Anne LaClaw, and grandsons James Matthew and Dylan Lee.
 Thereis no public visitation. A burial mass will be held at Our Lady of the SpringsCatholic Church.

She is preceded in death by: husband- Charles Grimes; parents- Riley & Dessie (Bell) Pemberton; sister- Margaret Clements & brother- Jesse Pemberton. 

Helen "Maxine" Grimes was a member of Paoli United Methodist Church and she was a retired waitress for several area restaurants of Paoli.

Charlotte Ann Bennett was a former school teacher and attended Youngs Creek Church of Christ. She was also  a 4-H volunteer & helped with the quilting contest.

Janet Lynn (Bottorff) Lee, 77, of Paoli, passed throughtransition on July 8, 2017 at 11:42pm at the Paoli Health and Living CommunityNursing Home. There will be no viewing in Paoli; neither will there be aviewing at the Evergreen Cemetery in Louisville, KY. We have done everything “alonetogether” for 55 years; we decided we would do this last thing “alone together.”

 Janet Lynn’s husband Clinton, will at some point open theirhome to family, friends and acquaintances, so they may give their condolences,sign a register, receive a memorial and view many pictures from Janet Lynn’slife.  

Janet Lynn Bottorff was born January 29, 1940 in Louisville,KY at St. Joseph Infirmary, to Irvin Elmer & Ella Mae (Ottersbach)Bottorff. Both of Janet Lynn’s parents preceded her in death.

 Janet Lynn was promoted from the Primary Department of theAuburndale School, Louisville, KY, to the Junior Department, September 26,1948.

 Janet Lynn graduated from William M. Borden High School inBorden, Indiana, May 23, 1958.

 Janet Lynn Attended Sullivan College in Louisville, KY fortwo years, and became a secretary for Evans Furniture Company. She would laterbecome and Avon Representative, joing her mother. 

 Janet Lynn Bottorff met and married Clinton Beriah Lee,January 20, 1962. Janet Lynn and Clinton have no children. They have beenmarried 55 years.

 Janet Lynn and her husband moved to Paoli in 1970, buyingthe widow, Edna Waynick’s place at 2948 West Us Highway 150. Janet Lynn’shusband Clinton survives in the home there.

 Janet Lynn became a genealogist in 1978, after the death ofher husband’s father.  All of a sudden,everyone wanted to know where he or she came from. She has taken her husband’sfather’s family back to 1800 and she has taken his mother’s family back to the1300’s. She has done extensive work on her mother’s Ottersbach family. 

 Janet Lynn joined her husband in January of 1979 for Ski PaoliPeaks first season, as the assistant to her husband Clinton, manager of the SkiRental and Snowboard Department. She worked there for many years, hiring andtraining employees for that department, many of them young high schoolstudents. 

 Janet Lynn was a member of the Christian faith and PaoliSenior Citizens Center. McAdams Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.

Cremation was chosen for Joyce Ladean Gold, 82, of Paoli. She was born May 19, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA. She married Walter Gold Jr. in April of 1952, and he precedes her in death.

Joyce Ladean Gold is survived by: daughters- Pamela Smith of Reno, NV, Shirrill Smith of Henderson, NV & Deborah Roden- Moville, IA; sons- Walter Gold III of Miliani, HI & WIlliam Gold of Moville, IA; sister- Janet Holiday of Murrieta, CA; 19 grandchildren, several great grandchildren & 4 great-great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by: husband, parents-Hiram & Bertha (Jump) Haynes, 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

Fred W. Robbins peacefully ended his earthy journey on June 8, 2017 at Paoli Health and Living Community.  He was born August 2, 1937 in French Lick, IN. He is survived by: son- Kent Robbins of Bedford; sisters- Barbara Underwood of Paoli, Junella Chapman & husband, George, of Indianapolis, Rena Watson & husband Bert of Indianapolis & Kay Conner of Bedford; & grandson- Alex Robbins & wife Caitlin of Las Vegas, NV. Fred Robbins is preceded in death by: wife- Betty (Morris) Robbins & parents- John Woodrow & Juna Lucille (Flick) Robbins.

After graduating from Paoli High School, Fred joined the US Air Force. He took great pride in serving his country, and remarked several times that he would do it all over again.  His tours of duty included Germany & Vietnam.   He retired from the Air Force as Tech. Sergeant after serving 20 years. He also attended Northwood University where he received the honor of class valedictorian. He then began working at Farm Bureau Co-op in Orleans where he was Co-op Manager. After retiring, Fred Enjoyed carpentry, yard work & volunteering at IU Health Paoli Hospital and at Throop Elementary where he would read books to students. Fred W. Robbins was a member of Moore's Ridge United Methodist Church of French Lick, English VFW and French Lick American Legion.

Survivors include: daughters- Lana Beer of Aurora, IN & Penny Anderson of Ambia, IN; son- William Joe Fitzpartick of Raliegh, NC; sister- Martha Jane Reynolds of Mitchell, 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She attended Lepsic School and was a 1937 Orleans High School Graduate.

He is survived by: daughters- Angela Moore of Orleans & April Underwood & husband Jason, of Bloomington; son- Chester Moore & wife Rebekah of Bloomington; sisters- Joyce White of Mitchell & Margie Moore of Hammond Louisiana; brothers- Gary Moore of Paoli, Willie Moore of Hammond, Louisiana & Ronald Moore of McComb, Mississippi; grandchildren- Zane Alexander Lewis & wife Nicole of Bedford, Gatlin Levi Lewis of Orleans, Crosby Russell Moore, Carson Oliver Moore, Charles Hudson Moore, Alison Jane Underwood & Andrew Jason Underwood all of Bloomington. He is preceded in death by: parents- Chester & LaVon (Richardson) Moore & brother Lonnie Moore. 

Donald Russell Moore was an employee of Indiana Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.
